Anvil Bar & Refuge is owned and operated by three cocktail freaks — Bobby Heugel, Kevin Floyd, and Steve Flippo. All the cocktails are made with fresh ingredients like house-made bitters, sodas, infusions and liqueurs. The concept of Anvil is to bring people back to the elegant simplicity of the past era when cocktails were fashioned with pride and bartending was a respected profession. The bartenders at Anvil are not mixologists – just to be clear! They don’t allow that word in their establishment. However, the craftsmanship and attention to detail of each cocktail they offer is astonishing. They offer The 100 List which challenges everyone to try 100 of their different cocktails (not all in one night). If you don’t see something on the list you like or the menu is overwhelming you can always tell the bartender what you like and don’t like and they will craft something for you on the spot.
